|Name:||sandor clegane | the hound|
'a hound will die for you-
but never lie to you.'
sandor clegane, widely known as the hound, a moniker which stems from the man's unwavering obedience to the lannister's and for the three dogs upon his household crest.
the whole left side of his face is horribly scarred with burns; the result of being caught playing with his older brother's toy. apparently six years had been old enough for the cruel elder clegane to dispense with mercy and stuff his sibling's face into burning coals as punishment. not many people know the truth behind the incident, as sandor's father thought it wiser to say the boy's bed accidentally caught fire in the night. four years later, his brother was knighted. these events had much influence in shaping the hound's view on holy vows and knighthood, seeing the acts as superficial and laden with hypocrisy.
sandor is cynical, brutish, insensitive, callous, and prone to bouts of drinking. he's also compassionate and protective. brave, loyal. there's little he won't do for those he's sworn fealty to, and his whole shit-stained life has left a soft-spot in his heart for others caught in less than fortunate circumstances. still, he sees the world for the fucked up violent place it is, and nonetheless obeys commands from his king, who can be a horrendously immoral cunt more often than not.
"There are no true knights, no more than there are gods. If you can't protect yourself, die and get out of the way of those who can. Sharp steel and strong arms rule this world, don't ever believe any different..."
mun is just going to pretend this scene between sandor and sansa hadn't been cut from the show. this sandor is a mix of canonical events from the book as well as the tv series; however, unless otherwise specified, assume he is taken from the most recent episode of the television show.
mun and muse are well over eighteen. sandor's book!canon bio here & tv series!canon here.
